Traditional sports lighting control systems have typically ranged from simple switches to token-operated meters. While token meters worked well when cash and coins were part of everyday life, the rapid shift towards cashless payments in recent years has changed how clubs and players operate. With fewer people carrying coins, token-based systems have gradually become less practical and less convenient.

Recognising this shift early, BEM Ltd developed a web-based app that allows players to control lighting directly from their phones. Initially, some clubs were hesitant to move away from traditional systems, but as cashless transactions became the norm and tokens became increasingly obsolete, many returned to adopt our solution.

Today, the platform is used by thousands of players globally, and through continuous feedback from clubs and users, we have introduced a wide range of features designed to simplify facility management. The result is improved financial control, reduced administration for staff, and a far more convenient experience for players and clubs alike.
